Hub technologies to be demonstrated at UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase 2021

The UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase, a major annual event within the quantum industry calendar, is taking place on Friday 5 November 2021.

The event, which is organised by KTN in partnership with Innovate UK, will see over 80 exhibitors come together to showcase the latest protype and demonstrator technologies, highlighting the success and progress of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme and commercialisation of quantum technologies in the UK, over the last year.

The Showcase will resume as a face-to-face event for 2021, having taken place virtually during 2020, and will take place at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London. 600 attendees, from across industry, government and the public sector, will be able to see first-hand the advances that have been made in the development and commercialisation of quantum technologies, along with finding out more about the applications of each of them.

The Quantum Communications Hub will be exhibiting, along with the other three UK Quantum Technology Hubs, at the Showcase, with a number of demonstrations available to see. Further details as to what visitors can look forward to seeing at Hub stands can be seen below:

  • Stand 41: our central Hub stand where visitors can find out more about our programme of work and also see a demonstration showing how light forms the foundation of our research.
  • Stand 42: demonstrations of prototype technologies for an entanglement-based network, led by Hub partner the University of Bristol.
  • Stand 43: a demonstration of the latest prototype version of a handheld QKD system, which will enable free-space QKD transmissions between consumers and institutions to be undertaken, led by Hub partners the Universities of Bristol and Oxford.
  • Stand 44: a stand showcasing work to develop a next generation quantum communication CubeSat equipped with Hub technologies, led by Hub partners Craft Prospect and the University of Bristol

Along with inviting attendees to visit our demonstrations, we welcome interested parties to visit our central Hub stand to discuss potential collaboration opportunities and find out more about the Partnership Resource Fund which is currently open to applications.
