Interactive map of UK Quantum Landscape launched

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) has recently released an interactive, searchable and open access tool that maps quantum investment and expertise within the UK. The Quantum Landscape includes businesses, research groups, projects funded through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), UK national centres and postgraduate training centres and is intended to be used as a point of reference for quantum capabilities in the UK.

The tool has an advanced search function which enables users to search by specific areas of expertise, location and funding type. It lists over 200 businesses including quantum technology developers, consultancies, end users, supply chain and innovation networks. Further, 160 research groups and universities from right across the UK are listed, along with their contact details, allowing every user to find a suitable contact point from academia and/or industry.

It is recognised that for quantum technologies to be fully integrated within society and industry, training of the next generation of quantum engineers and scientists is crucial. In order to support this, the map includes a list of 32 active postgraduate training centres including centres for doctoral training, doctoral training programmes and training and skills hubs to enable easy identification of potential training locations.

The tool will continually be updated as the industry grows and the landscape within the UK changes.
