New guidelines for the allocation of Partnership Resource

The Hub has today published new guidelines for the allocation of its flexible funding, the so-called Partnership Resource. We welcome proposal submissions for a period of six weeks (till March 8th, 2020). Funding decisions will be communicated to all successful applicants during the w/c 23/03/20. The international Quantum Shorts competition is back!

Quantum Shorts is an annual, international competition aiming to produce quantum inspired artistic outputs in the form of either short videos (as in the 2018 round) or short stories (flash fiction) as is the theme this year.

Our final year report for the first phase of the programme is now published!

Thanks to all the Hub colleagues, partners and collaborators who have contributed to our fifth year report, published today on our website. The report provides a summary of all our achievements over the last five years and outlines future directions for the Hub in the second stage of the national quantum technologies programme.

Hub partner Bristol demonstrates first QKD over 5G network application

Bristol, 3 September 2019

The completion of the UK’s Quantum Network (UKQN) came one step closer earlier this month with the launch of Bristol’s metropolitan quantum network. Establishing the country’s first quantum network to be used as a national testbed facility for the emerging technologies is a major Hub aim, and one that hands the UK a definite competitive advantage in the global quantum race.
