New Protocols

Home>Research Community>About the Hub>Phase 2>New Protocols

The Hub is extending the theoretical and practical development of schemes  developed in Phase 1, while also developing further schemes for practically and commercially significant tasks including tokens, signatures and Random Number Generators (RNGs). Theoretical development is optimizing token efficiency, flexibility, security and privacy. Related schemes include quantum position verification and related position-based tasks, secure key sharing over networks and practically important variants of bit commitment, bit coordination and oblivious transfer. Efficient quantum signature schemes and transferrable message authentication codes are being implemented using QKD technology, together with dedicated high-speed computers and software. The Hub is developing detailed theoretical models for existing QRNGs and comparing these with experimental measurements thus taking first steps towards an assurance process for such QRNGs.
